We understand you may not be able to attend every session, but encourage all participants to commit to attending at least one session/week on average.
You’ve started running but you want to take it to the next level. Running 101 will introduce you to run training approaches and principles while keeping you motivated and excited to get out there each week. The program meets twice per week for 6 to 8 weeks. While you don’t have to run a race at the end of the program, the group will pick one each session that you can race together (in person when available, or virtually) with your training partners if you choose. Participants receive commemorative program swag and are eligible for discounts on all =PR= Races.
A typical session may focus on endurance, improving speed through intervals, targeting different training zones/energy systems, and running technique. In addition, we’ll use some basic circuits, drills, and core work to supplement the run portion of the training. When you complete Running 101, choose to repeat it again — because ability and training levels vary, there is always room to improve. Also, runners can consider the =PR= Interval Program to work on your speed and strength in an ongoing way.
