We understand you may not be able to attend every session, but encourage all participants to commit to attending at least one session/week on average.
You’re ready for a bigger/longer challenge… Running 201 will move you to intermediate training approaches and principles while keeping you motivated and excited to get out there each week. The program meets twice a week for 6 to 8-week sessions (several times each year). We understand that you may miss from time to time and coaches will help you if conflicts arise. While you don’t have to run a race at the end of the program, the group will pick one each session that you can race together with your training partners if you choose. (Depending on local guidelines, we may suggest a virtual race).
A typical session may focus on endurance, improving speed through intervals, targeting different training zones/energy systems, and running technique. In addition, we’ll use some basic circuits, drills, and core work to supplement the run portion of the training. When you complete Running 201, choose to repeat it again — because runners’ ability and training levels vary, there is always room to improve. Or consider Distance Training if you also are looking for a weekend program/endurance focus.
